Bee House

$25.00

Bee houses, also called bee hotels, provide nesting spaces for solitary bees. These nest boxes, made by students in the FFA program at NCCC, are specifically for mason bees. They are constructed of solid untreated pine or fir blocks, which simulate a dead tree with beetle burrows. The boxes have 1/4 inch holes for mason bees to lay larvae in, and there is an overhang in the front to prevent predation and rain from getting in. By providing a safe habitat, a bee house can help increase pollination in your garden and allow solitary bees to nest who cannot dig holes on their own.
