Prefers a rich, ever moist soil in the sun or part shade. In the 2nd year grows to 5’ tall with thick purple stems, multiple large white flower umbels. Plant 2 to 3 feet apart. Seeds that drop in the fall of the 2nd year will germinate the next spring. Dig up and space new seedlings 2 to 3 feet apart. Seed needs to be planted soon after ripening so best to let it drop then rather than saving it over the winter.
